Five friends, Rajiv [Dino Morea], Ishita [Anjori Alagh], Jai [Sameer Dattani], Monica [Nauheed Cyrusi] and Manish [Aftab Shivdasani], get drunk on their last day in college, and place a bet of Rs.200 among themselves, each claiming she/he will be the happiest in life. They give each other five years to win the bet. Rajiv says happiness means success. He becomes the best enterpreneur of the country. Jai thinks happiness means power. He becomes the youngest member of the Parliament. Monica says happiness means fame. She becomes a leading actress. Ishita thinks happiness means money. She marries a business tycoon. Manish is not a part of the bet. He wants plain happiness, which comes by itself. He keeps the bet amount with himself, and is to judge the winner after five years.

Storyline

Rajiv Arora: The younger brother of a business tycoon [Sanjeev Arora], he starts on his own after idealogical disputes with Sanjeev. A stock market crash almost ruins him. Jai Gokhale: Son of a respectable co-operative bank chairman; Jai joins politics against his widowed mothers will. He rapidly climbs up the party ranks. Ishita Sharma: contributor of a leading gossip magazine Scandal, she traps a tycoon with her beauty and strategy. Monica Seth: setting aside a doting boyfriends marriage proposal, she makes it big in Bollywood, which required more than hard work including her virginity. Manish Gupta: A struggling writer, gets happily married and has a daughter. Finally, he writes the best-selling Life Mein Kabhie Kabhiee.
